Twenty-five train cars derailed at an northwest Atlanta train yard Monday morning, officials said.

The train belongs to Norfolk Southern, spokeswoman Susan Terpay said.

No one was injured, she said, and no traffic or businesses were impacted. Norfolk officials responded to the scene.

The train – 199 cars long – derailed at a train yard near Marietta Boulevard and West Marietta Street in northwest Atlanta at about 6:30 a.m.

Six of the train cars, which were on the way to Birmingham, were turned on their sides, Terpay said. The rest of the derailed cars were upright.

None of the cars were carrying any hazardous material, according to Terpay.
