Two Gwinnett County police officers were not injured when another car hit their car Friday, police said.

The accident happened about 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 78 and Cooper Road in Snellville, Gwinnett police Cpl. Deon Washington said.

Snellville police, who investigated the crash, said a car made a U-turn in front of another car going east on Highway 78, and that forced the second car to swerve into the lane in which a Gwinnett patrol car was traveling.

The two people in the car that hit the police car were taken to a hospital, Snellville police said. Their injuries weren’t believed to be serious.
