Tractor-trailer driver seriously injured in I-20 crash

Traffic is moving again on I-20 West in Douglas County after a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a disabled vehicle seriously injured the truck driver, according to reports.

About 6:30 a.m. Thursday, the tractor-trailer hit the vehicle on the right shoulder, turned over and went into the woods, the Georgia State Patrol said.

The driver, John Carter, 54, of Atlanta, was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital. His condition was not released.

The only person in the 2008 Nissan Maxima, Jermaine Drake, 41, of Morrow, was taken to an Atlanta hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash closed the interstate for hours.
