A sinkhole has shuttered one lane of a major Peachtree City intersection, and authorities said they may have to shut down additional lanes if the hole gets bigger.

The sinkhole is located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Ga. 54 and Ga. 74, police said on Facebook. One right turn lane is shut down for now.

The sinkhole occurred Friday morning as North Georgia dealt with flooding and power outages brought on by severe weather.
