A Marietta woman was killed and two others were injured in a rollover car crash that closed Delk Road in Cobb County for about an hour Friday afternoon, police said.

Ashleigh L. Smith was driving a Ford Explorer eastbound on Delk Road about 1:17 p.m. when she lost control, Cobb police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said.

Investigators believe Smith veered left and then overcorrected, which caused the car to rotate counterclockwise. When the Ford hit the grassy median area, it tripped and then barrel-rolled across the median and landed upside down in the westbound lane, Pierce said.

Smith was ejected as it rolled over multiple times. Doctors pronounced her dead at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.

Scottie E. Rosser, 25, who was in the front passenger seat, was taken to Kennestone in stable condition. Smith’s 1-year-old son was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Pierce said.
