A woman was killed and another driver was seriously injured in a collision in Clayton County.

Officers responded to the crash about 7:40 p.m. Wednesday at Ga. 42 and Oak Circle, Clayton police Sgt. Ashanti Marbury said.

They found an overturned Honda Accord and 38-year-old Dusty Walraven, who was pinned inside the vehicle.

Clayton firefighters responded to the scene to assist but were not able to find any signs of life from Walraven, Marbury said. The woman was pronounced dead on the scene.

The crash investigation revealed Walraven was traveling north on Ga. 42 when a vehicle driven by a 70-year-old man pulled into her path of travel and tried to turn left onto Oak Circle.

The man hit Walraven and caused her car to leave the roadway and flip over an embankment into a drainage ditch, Marbury said.

“Walraven was pinned inside of the vehicle for several hours before Emergency Services crews were able to free her,” Marbury said.

The man, who has not been identified, was taken to a local hospital for treatment and remains in serious condition, police said.
