Jimmy Carter Boulevard will be closed at Live Oak Parkway until late Tuesday or early Wednesday, Gwinnett County police said.

A water main break prompted the closure.

Officials from Gwinnett Water Resources were on the scene Tuesday, police said in a Twitter post.

Drivers in the Norcross area were urged to use alternate routes.

Karen Shields, spokeswoman for the water department, said water has been turned off near the intersection.

About 20-25 businesses along Jimmy Carter Boulevard are affected, she said. Officials are not aware of any homes in the area that are without water at this time.
