An 85-year-old woman was killed and two others were hurt in a Monday morning crash on I-285 in DeKalb County, police said.

The single-car crash happened when the driver went off the roadway near the exit ramp for I-675 South and struck a tree, DeKalb police spokesman Maj. Stephen Fore said.

Agnes Bechtel, the driver’s mother, was a passenger in the backseat, Fore said.

The two injured people were taken to a nearby hospital and one was in critical condition, Jackson said.

No other details were released.
