Portions of two downtown streets were temporarily shut down early Monday after two suspicious packages were found in the lobby of the U.S. Post Office on Marietta Street.

Officials closed Marietta Street from Cone to Broad streets and Forsyth Street from Walton to Alabama streets, Atlanta police Officer Kim Jones said. And MARTA reported bus delays in the Five Points area as a result of the police investigation. Routes 155, 51, 74 and 186 were affected, the transit agency said.

Officials reopened the streets just after 9 a.m. and cleared the scene without incident, police said.
