Traffic is back to normal near SunTrust Park after a driver slammed into a power pole Saturday, prompting road closures that lasted hours.

The wreck caused the pole to become “unstable,” Smyrna police said. Both the north and southbound lanes of the Cobb Parkway were closed while Cobb DOT worked to repair the pole. The overnight project—which police said would take five hours—was completed about 4 a.m. Sunday.

Traffic south of Windy Hill Road was detoured through the nearby Target parking lot and police asked motorists to avoid the area altogether until the pole was fixed.
