Avoid Buford Highway if you can.

Fire officials closed the in both directions between North Druid Hills and West Druid Hills roads as crews battle flames under the Peachtree Creek bridge, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The debris fire began just before 9:30 p.m., the news station reported.

Officials have not said when the road will reopen.

MARTA bus route 39 was redirected due to the road closure.

The traffic scare is just the latest to cap of nearly 20 hours of highway incidents.

Metro Atlantans were first met with a 2 a.m. chemical spill on the Downtown Connector, which left traffic at a standstill for about four hours.

Just before noon, I-20 westbound near Flat Shoals Road buckled due to a damaged gas line. A motorcyclist crashed on the buckled interstate and remains in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.

All lanes are expected to reopen noon Tuesday.

On Thursday March 30, a massive fire caused part of I-85 to collapse. The fire and subsequent collapse shut down the interstate and some alternate routes.
