A crash involving three tractor-trailers tied up early Thursday morning traffic through Douglas County.

The three trucks collided on Thornton Road about 5:30 a.m., according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center. The crash had all but one northbound lane of Thornton Road shut down north of Maxham Road.

In an unrelated incident, a sanitation truck hit an overhead sign on I-20 East approaching Chapel Hill Road, flattening tires on multiple cars, according to the Traffic Center. Two right lanes were blocked.

Both incidents have been cleared, the Traffic Center confirmed.
