Two people were killed Thursday morning in a wrong-way crash in Carroll County, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

A 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Linda Word, was heading east on the wrong side of Ga. 166 when it approached two vehicles heading west on the highway in the left lane.

Word’s vehicle hit Oddie Lewis’ 2018 Ford Escape head-on before striking Wesleyan Dothard’s 2014 Nissan Altima in the back near Craven Road, the GSP said in a statement to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Word, 74, of Bowdon, and Lewis, 69, of Carrollton, were killed, the GSP reported.

Dothard, 27, of Carrollton, had non-life-threatening injuries, according to the GSP.
