Lanes were blocked on both sides of the interstate at about 8 a.m., according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

At the time, flames shot from a grassy section dividing the north and south lanes.

Soon after, Atlanta fire extinguished the blaze, the Traffic Center reported.

It is unclear what caused the fire. No injuries were reported.
