A tornado warning expired for three northwest Georgia counties Monday night — Catoosa, Walker and Whitfield. But no storms were expected in the metro area, according to forecasters.

There is a 30 percent chance of showers Tuesday, mostly north of I-20, chief meteorologist Glenn Burns with Channel 2 Action News said. High temperatures are expected to reach around 76 degrees under partly cloudy skies, Burns said.

A slight temperature increase is expected by the end of the week, Burns said. Thursday’s high is expected to reach 83 degrees, he said.

After Tuesday, the next chance of rain comes Friday.
