At least one tornado tore through part of rural North Texas on Wednesday night, damaging numerous roofs and outbuildings, officials said.

There were no immediate reports of injuries. Storm spotters reported that a suspected tornado tore through a rural area just south of Graham, about 80 miles northwest of Fort Worth. The National Weather Service confirmed early Thursday that a tornado formed in Wise County at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service said.

It started near Chico, Texas, and continued northeast at 35 mph toward Alvord, according to the NWS. Power flashes were reported in the area around that same time, according to news station WFAA.

A watch was put in place Wednesday for several parts of the area.

Reports of tree damage and downed utility lines were widespread.
