Some people visit museums to see stunning works of art, but one man just heads to his kitchen to create his own with fruits and vegetables.

Daniel Barresi, a food sculptor and artist from Italy, uses goodies from his refrigerator, such as avocado, broccoli and watermelon, to carve out fascinating masterpieces.
Combining Thai and embroidery techniques with his own style, his designs have garnered much attention. He's amassed a fanbase of more than 100,000 people across Facebook and Instagram, where he uploads his creations.
His interest for the industry peaked when he attended a wedding party that featured food sculptures.
"From that day I tried to find more information about it and I started with an apple," he told Mashable. "I saw something which excited me. Day by day, pumpkin by pumpkin, I realized that it was time to participate in a competition to know what people and judges think about my skills."

The 26-year-old won a bronze metal at his first competition. He's also taken home a bronze and gold metal from the World Championship in addition to a host of other prizes.
When he isn’t turning fruits and veggies into art, which can take up to six hours, he’s working at a pastry shop in Australia.
