1. Georgia's biggest moments in the presidential race. Georgia didn't play a starring role in the exhausting and bitter presidential campaign that began nearly two years ago, but it also wasn't relegated to the sidelines. As 2016 comes to a close, here's a look back at some of the biggest moments in the Georgia campaign. [Read here] 

2. Mayhem in midtown Atlanta. Early Thursday, traffic in Midtown came to a halt. Slowly, Atlanta police released details of what led to the shutdown in one of city's most heavily-traveled areas: A black Hummer was involved in at least eight hit-and-runs. [Read here] 

3. How the Peach Bowl grew up to be a College Football Playoff semifinal. A bowl game that once struggled for survival and long toiled in the lower tiers of college football's postseason finally reaches the pinnacle Saturday. The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl will be played for the 49th time, and this season it is a more important game than the storied Rose Bowl or Sugar Bowl or Orange Bowl. [Read here] 

4. A cold and breezy start. Bundle up, metro Atlanta. Temperatures in some areas were more than 30 degrees lower early Friday than they were early Thursday, according to Channel 2 Action News. [Read here] 

5. Georgia's Blue Bird bus company thriving. Every so often, a long yellow train of school buses snakes its way through traffic on I-75 north. It's a parade of new Blue Bird buses journeying to schools -- some right here in Georgia; others located far from the Peach State. [Read here]
