2. Man charged in slaying of Atlanta woman on beach in Grenada; Police say Jessica Colker was sexually assaulted

Police on Wednesday revealed that Jessica Colker from Atlanta had been raped by her alleged assailant, Dave Michael Benjamin, a landscaper who had apparently been begging for money on the Grenada beach where the attack took place. Read more.

3. DeKalb investigates principal after allegation of racial remarks

The Lakeside High School principal was removed after he was accused of making racially-charged comments to school staff. School district Superintendent Steve Green said there was an investigation into the allegations against the principal, Jason Clyne, in a statement issued on Wednesday. Read more.

A raffle for Pickens County High School's wrestling team is riling up many for its prize, a Glock 9mm pistol. The co-owner of the gun shop offering the gun being raffled defended the plans. Several locals thought it wasn't such a good idea. Read more.

5. Column: Hawks shouldn't trade Horford — or Teague

With the NBA trade deadline coming up on Feb. 18, sports columnist Mark Bradley writes that though the Hawks are bad at rebounding and Al Horford is one reason why, Horford shouldn't be traded for a Truer Center.
