Q: What happened to The Motley Fool brothers? I saw their column in a 2002 AJC that I came across last week. Tom and Dave were their names, and I believe they also had a radio show.
—Elmer K. Miller, Cumming
A: The Motley Fool, a "financial services company dedicated to building the world's greatest investment community," continues to have a strong presence in newspapers and other media. "Things have never been better at The Fool," spokeswoman Alison Southwick told Q&A on the News in an email. David and Tom Gardner helped found The Motley Fool as a monthly investment newsletter in 1993. The Motley Fool still produces a newsletter, but also has books, including "Warren Buffett Invests Like a Girl: And Why You Should, Too" in 2011, a syndicated column that appears in 200 newspapers, a national radio show and a daily podcast. Motley Fool Asset Management, which was created five years ago, manages $500 million in three mutual funds. Investors can subscribe to The Motley Fool through its website at Fool.com. "We currently have hundreds of thousands of members around the globe who rely on The Motley Fool for guidance on how to invest their money better," Southwick wrote, adding there are offices in the U.S., United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and Singapore.
