A: Some experts say the Nile is the longest river in the world, while others say the Amazon is longer.

Recent studies have shown the Amazon’s source could be farther than previously thought, which would put its length at an estimated 4,325 miles, according to worldatlas.com. The Nile is 4,258 miles long, according to the website.
