Q: When you write in the name of the vice presidential candidate as your vote for president, does that vote actually wind up as a vote for the ticket and, by default, wind up as a vote for the presidential candidate? In other words, if one were to write in Michael Pence for president, does that count as a vote for the ticket?

—Chris Louis, Woodstock

A: Georgia voters can only write in the names from a list of 17 qualified write-in candidates for president.

Other names won’t count, the AJC has reported.

Only Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate, and their running mates are shown on the ballot.

The qualifying write-in candidates in Georgia are: Stephen L. Allen, Robert Buchanan, David C. Byrne, Darrell Castle, Loren Collins, Scott Cubbler, Claire Elisabeth Elliott, Cherunda Fox, Thomas Hoefling, Laurence Kotlikoff, Mike Maturen, Evan McMullin, Ricky Muhammad, Michael L. Smith, Jill Stein, Marc Urbach and Sandra Wilson.

Q: Both the Cubs and Indians have their dugout on the third base side. The Braves had theirs on the first base side at Turner Field. Will it remain that way at SunTrust Park?

—Tom Cotton, Senoia

A: The Braves' dugout will be on the first base side of the field when the team begins play at SunTrust Park in 2017, a club spokeswoman told Q&A on the News in an email.
