Q: I’m watching reruns of the old sitcom “WKRP in Cincinnati.” I don’t recall seeing any of the other actors other than Howard Hesseman and Loni Anderson. Was that just a one-shot deal for all of them?

—Frank Burnette, Decatur

A: The other actors on "WKRP in Cincinnati," which aired on CBS from 1978 to 1982, appeared on many other shows and in movies, before and after their prominent roles as part of the sitcom's ensemble cast.

Gary Sandy, who played Andy Travis, was in “Murder She Wrote,” “L.A. Law” and Diagnosis Murder,” in addition to soap operas, movies and on Broadway. Gordon Jump (Arthur Carlson) later appeared on “Diff’rent Strokes,” “Night Court” and “Seinfeld” before he died in 2003.

Jan Smithers (Bailey Quarters) appeared in several other TV shows, including “The Love Boat,” before retiring from acting in 1987. Tim Reid (Venus Flytrap) also is known for his role as Det. Marcel Brown on “Simon & Simon” and was in “That ’70s Show” from 2004 to 2006. Frank Bonner (Herb Tarlek) later went into directing and Richard Sanders (Les Nessman) has had a long career acting and writing. Hesseman was John “Dr. Johnny Fever” Caravella and Anderson was Jennifer Marlowe on the show.

Q: Where did Ryan Young go? He was a news reporter at WSB-TV.

—Levet Lawson, Stockbridge

A: Young, who had been with WSB since 2005, joined CNN in January. He is a national correspondent based in Chicago. "I love Atlanta. It's been my home for some great years. This station (WSB) and those who work here are like my family," Young wrote on his Instagram account in January.
