A trailer hauling a tank hit an overpass on the Buford-Spring Connector late Tuesday morning, causing the tank to land on the southbound lanes.

All southbound lanes were temporarily blocked while crews attempted to move the trailer from the roadway. Some traffic was able to pass the tank at a much slower-than-normal pace.

Shortly after 1 p.m., the tank was cleared from the roadway and travel resumed.

No injuries were reported in the incident, which was under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
