A SWAT standoff near Lithonia ended about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday with the suspect’s surrender, police said.

When officers responded around daybreak to a domestic violence call at a house in the 7700 block of Union Grove Road, Christopher Wahle barricaded himself inside the home and refused to come out, DeKalb County police Capt. S.R. Fore said.

Fore said Wahle, 45, was alone in the house, which is off Turner Hill Road. A female victim from the home was treated at Grady Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, DeKalb police Assistant Chief Brian Harris told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Wahle, and once the SWAT team surrounded the house, “the subject came out,” Harris said. “We talked him out the doorway and took him into custody without incident.”

Fore said Wahle was charged with aggravated battery.
