A crime spree suspect was taken into custody Monday after a SWAT standoff with DeKalb police, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Officers reportedly shot tear gas into a house on Glynn Drive off Sergeant Avenue after negotiating with the barricaded suspect for several hours.

Police told Channel 2 that the man was wanted for stabbing a woman in Henry County on Monday morning, and they tracked him to a home on Shadowridge Drive in DeKalb, where he stole a vehicle. A woman was found dead inside that home, Channel 2 said.

The man allegedly led police on a chase and wrecked the vehicle, then escaped on foot before breaking into the Glynn Drive home and barricading himself inside.

Police have not released the name of the suspect or the identity of the woman found dead.
