Two people were killed early Thursday afternoon when a small plane crashed onto a Florida highway in Ocala, Florida.

Investigators said the plane crashed on Southwest State Road 200, according to WFTV. The station said the plane had left from the Ocala International Airport. No details have been released as to what caused the crash.

The highway was closed for several hours while police and medical teams responded to the scene.

The crash happened about 24 hours after a small plane crashed into a DeKalb County apartment complex, also killing two people.
