Parts of extreme north Georgia shook from a small earthquake early Saturday, but no damage was reported.

The 12:03 a.m. quake, centered near McCaysville on the Georgia-Tennessee line, was measured at 2.5 magnitude, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Police dispatchers in the area told the AJC they received a few calls from concerned residents, but none reporting any damage or injuries.

The weak earthquake was felt as far away as Ellijay and Blairsville, as well as in the Murphy, N.C., and Copperhill, Tenn., areas.
