September 17, 2019 Cuthbert - Aerial of Cuthbert on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. Profile on Randolph County, one of the GA counties most vulnerable to natural disasters, based on CPI data analysis. Randolph (county seat Cuthbert) has one paid firefighter. Roughly half the homes were damaged in 2018 from Hurricane Michael, when the local hospital's backup generator failed and it went without power for 5 days. The generator also isn't set up for AC - a problem because the hospital includes an 80-bed nursing home and temperatures were in the mid-80s after Michael. Randolph also got hit by Hurricane Irma and tornadoes in 2017. (Hyosub Shin / Hyosub.Shin@ajc.com)
