One of three soldiers killed in an Oct. 20 training accident at Fort Stewart is set to be buried Wednesday in Bryan County.

Sgt. 1st Class Bryan Andrew Jenkins, 41, whose active basic military service began three days after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, died along with Cpl. Thomas Cole Walker and Pfc. Antonio Garcia when their vehicle rolled off a bridge at Fort Stewart.

The troops were training for a deployment to the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California, in February.

Jenkins, who served two tours in Iraq between 2005 and 2008, is survived by his wife of 19 years, a son who is also in the military, two daughters, two brothers, a sister and numerous family members, according to Flanders Morrison Funeral Home & Crematory, which is handling the arrangements.

Visitation is from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Pembroke, followed by a funeral service. The burial is private.

A funeral service for Walker is set for Saturday in Conneaut, Ohio.
