A Glynn County grand jury has indicted a man in the shooting death of a Federal Law Enforcement Training Center trainee.

Calvin Jenkins is accused of killing Wolf Valmond, 37, outside a St. Simons Island bar on Dec. 15, 2019, according to The Associated Press.

According to Wednesday testimony, surveillance video showed an argument between Jenkins and Valmond over the whereabouts of a woman’s cellphone. The two men then began shoving each other and fighting.

Witnesses told police Jenkins removed a gun, later identified as a Taurus 9 mm pistol, from his vehicle and shot Valmond in the chest. He then tossed the weapon in a flower bed.

Police said Jenkins later confessed to the shooting.

Jenkins is charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.
