State superintendent Barge to address education group
Georgia Superintendent John Barge, one of two Republicans challenging Gov. Nathan Deal as he seeks re-election, is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at a luncheon hosted by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators.
Deal has proposed a plan to give school districts additional state funding. Barge has been critical of that plan, arguing that it does not go far enough.
PAGE’s luncheon is scheduled to be held at noon in the Floyd Room of the Sloppy Floyd Building on Jesse Hill, Jr. Drive near the State Capitol.
