Teens, sex and federal funding

May 28, 2013

To receive federal money aimed at preventing HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, states must include at least four of seven possible sex-related questions on the Youth Risk Behavior Survey. Local governments can choose which questions to include on the survey, which also has questions about violence, alcohol use and other behaviors. Note: Multiple-choice answers include “I have never had sexual intercourse”
