A DeKalb County special education teacher is accused of physically and verbally abusing students in her care.
Toria Ross, 35, of Conyers, was charged Monday with three counts of cruelty to children in the first degree, according to arrest warrants obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Ross was employed at Stone Mountain Elementary School at the time of the alleged abuse, but the school district said Friday that Ross had been removed from the classroom during the investigation.
The school system said it also contacted the DeKalb County Department of Family and Children Services Child Welfare Division.
Ross was expected to turn herself into police in DeKalb on Monday. Once she is arrested, her bond will be set at $75,000, her arrest warrants state.
