I-75 southbound re-opens in Marietta after wreck

A vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on I-75 southbound clipped several vehicles Thursday night before the driver lost control and left the interstate, according to Marietta police.

The wreck temporarily closed all southbound lanes south of South Marietta Parkway for about an hour, according to police.

The driver, whose name was not released, left the interstate and landed in a tree line, Officer David Baldwin said.

No further details were available on the crash late Thursday.
