The Gold Dome will turn pink and green this week as members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority will converge on to the state’s Capitol to launch “New Dimensions of Political Action,” which will focus on the sorority’s program thrust around family strengthening with an emphasis on social justice and civil rights.

The two-day event will begin at 8 a.m. Monday and conclude on Tuesday. In addition to workshops on the family, civil rights and social justice, members will also participate in a “Solidarity March,” and discuss ways to build long-term relationships with political leaders.

The march – which will be led by several members of the legislature who are members of the sorority — is scheduled to begin at 9:45 a.m. Monday at the Capitol.
