Smash-and-grab burglars hit a Cobb County cell phone store before daybreak Tuesday, making off with several thousand dollars worth of phones, but a store official said the loss could have been much worse.
The thieves smashed the glass front door of the A Wireless store in the 2400 block of Cumberland Parkway in Vinings around 3:30 a.m, according to Dan Smith, district manager for the company.
Smith said the burglars took four demo phones and two iPhones, worth about $2,500.
“We were very lucky,” Smith told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “Everything in our safe was not touched.”
He said the store had only been open in the strip shopping center for about a month.
“This is thought of to be a very nice neighborhood,”Smith said. “It is very unfortunate this has happened.
