Six people were injured in a three-vehicle crash that shut down part of I-285 in Fulton County on Tuesday.

The crash, which was reported around 5:25 p.m. on I-285 northbound at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, began when a tractor trailer struck the rear of a Toyota 4Runner, Georgia State Patrol spokeswoman Tracey Watson said. After being hit, the 4Runner struck the rear of a Ford F-350, overturned and became pinned between a wall and the side of the tractor trailer.

The 4Runner also “became engulfed in flames,” Watson said.

Six people were injured and were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment, Watson said. No deaths were reported.

It was unclear which vehicle or vehicles those injured were traveling in. No other information was immediately available.

All lanes of I-285 northbound were closed immediately following the crash. Two lanes were reopened around 6:40 p.m., and the final three were reopened just prior to 7:30 p.m.
