For the second time in a month, a huge sinkhole has swallowed up part of West Wieuca Road near Chastain Park in Buckhead.

The latest sinkhole developed near Dudley Lane Friday after a morning of heavy rain that prompted the National Weather Service to issue a flash flood warning for parts of three metro counties.

The hole enveloped the eastbound lane of West Wieuca Road, leaving only one lane for traffic and pedestrians. Music lovers headed to the Chastain Park Amphitheater for Friday night’s Tedeschi Trucks Band concert or Saturday night’s concert by Charlie Wilson should use Powers Ferry Road or Stella Drive as alternate routes to the park.

The first sinkhole, which opened up in the same area on August 11, was about 35 feet deep, according to Channel 2 Action News.
