Three people were shot Saturday night in southwest Atlanta by what witnesses said was a lone gunman who demanded that the trio and another person “give it up” as they stood on a house porch, Atlanta police said Sunday.

The two women and man who were wounded survived the shooting, which occurred around 9:39 p.m. in the 2000 block of Herring Road SW, just north of Cascade Road. The shooting victims were identified as Shablord Samuels, Zelda Flint and Charles Rhynes. A fourth person with them, Timothy Reeves, was not injured.

Samuels was found inside the home with wounds to her stomach, lower middle abdomen and left buttocks. Flint suffered a wound to her left buttocks. Rhynes was shot in his left hip. All three were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Despite witness’ reports of multiple shots, police said no bullet shells or casings were found inside or outside the property, and no bullet holes were found in the walls, windows, or doors of the house. Police spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones said the case was still under investigation.

The alleged shooter was described as a young, short light-skinned black male with an afro hair style, slim build and wearing a white tank T-shirt.

Rhynes told police that before the man started shooting he yelled, “Give it up!” The victims said they did not know the man or what he wanted from them.
