A doughnut shop in Rochester, New York, thinks that Dr. Anthony Fauci is the icing on the cake — so they iced a picture of him onto doughnuts that have become a nationwide hit.
Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has been lauded by the American public for his facts-only coverage of the coronavirus pandemic. You can often find him alongside President Donald Trump in COVID-19 task force press briefings.

Nick Semeraro, owner of Donuts Delite, told CNN that he just wanted to cheer up the neighborhood but had no idea the pastries would be in demand.
"We wanted to find a way to cheer up the people in our neighborhood. ... We noticed Dr. Fauci, and we loved his message and how thorough he was, and how he kept everyone informed during the crisis ... so we wanted to give back and say thanks." —Semeraro
The bakers print a photo of Fauci on edible paper and then frost it onto a doughnut using buttercream frosting as the glue.
Donuts Delite has sold thousands of the Fauci-printed doughnuts to multiple states nationwide, Semeraro said.
"I never met a guy that worldwide he is so loved," Semeraro said of Fauci. "And a month ago, we never knew his first and last name. ... His political agenda is medical. It's facts ... the American public needs facts now."
If you need a sweet treat celebrating the now-famous doctor, Donuts Delite outlines the many ways to order in a Facebook post.
Semeraro plans on offering the doughnuts as long as the demand lasts.
