A Ohio man wanted in connection with a 2007 identity theft case involving a Georgia man was arrested Friday in North Carolina.

According to the News & Observer in Raleigh, N.C., Lawrence Powell of Cleveland allegedly stole a Georgia man's name, birthday and Social Security number, then filled out paperwork on Aug. 7, 2007, to buy a $109,335 Mercedes-Benz using the Georgia man's identity. He never got the red, 2008 Mercedes S550 because the deal fell through, the newspaper reported.

Fast forward to Friday when Powell, 68, was stopped in Raleigh in connection with another fraud case.

He was taken to the Wake County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond on multiple charges, including identity theft, obtaining property by false pretenses, forgery of instrument and uttering a forged instrument.
