Police are looking for the person who shot and critically injured a 14-year-old boy Wednesday night in northwest Atlanta.

The child, identified as Hassan Holley, was shot about 6 p.m. on Fairburn Road, Atlanta police said. He was found outside an abandoned home with no shirt and his pants near his ankles, Atlanta police Sgt. Warren Pickard said.

The teen was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and was in the intensive care unit Thursday morning, Channel 2 Action News reported.

According to the television station, Hassan was on his way back from running an errand when he was shot.

The day before the shooting, someone threatened him, relatives told Channel 2. Emma Pullins, the victim’s grandmother, said several people in the neighborhood bullied and harassed her grandson.

“He didn't go messing around or getting into any trouble,” she told the television station. “He always stayed at home and went to school.”

Neighbors said they saw someone running from the scene. Authorities used a police dog to search the neighborhood in the hopes of finding the shooter, Channel 2 reported. They only found clothes and other pieces of evidence.

Police did not have a description of the shooter late Thursday morning.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
