DeKalb County firefighters responding to reports of a possible entrapment in a predawn house fire Friday searched the home off Bouldercrest Road but found no one inside.

Firefighters called to the home on Pine Manor Court around 5:30 a.m. arrived to find heavy flames going through the roof of the two-story house, according to DeKalb fire Assistant Chief Winifred Smith.

Crews immediately went in to search for a possible victim, but primary and secondary searches “revealed no one in the home,” Smith said.

“However, we have the daughter on the scene that is advising that she has not been able to get in touch with her mom,” Smith told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Neighbors, he said, told firefighters that they “have not seen anyone here in the last couple of days.”

No injuries were reported in the fire. The cause of the blaze is under investigation, Smith said.
