Savannah military helicopter reportedly makes emergency landing

A Savannah military helicopter reportedly made an emergency landing at an elementary school Tuesday night near Jacksonville, Florida, according to WTOC.

There were no injuries and the helicopter did not crash, the Clay County District School Police Department reportedly told the TV station.
The police department said the helicopter had a mechanical issue and landed safely at Middleburg Elementary School, which was not damaged.

Another helicopter arrived with a part for repairs, and both departed the school about midnight, according to WTOC.
On Wednesday in an email to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the chief of public communications from Fort Stewart said Hunter Army Airfield has “aircraft of this type.”
