With the Thanksgiving holiday behind us, expect temperatures to continue decreasing as we head toward the end of the year. More importantly, stay safe while driving back home.
Although Atlanta will only see a high of 59 degrees Saturday and Sunday, mostly sunny skies may keep the heavy coat off your back, according to the forecast from Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon.
For those heading over to the Bobby Dodd Stadium in Midtown for the University of Georgia versus Georgia Tech game, expect temperatures to be in the low to mid-50s with some clouds in the sky when the game kicks off at noon. It will continue getting warmer, until cooling off again around sunset.
Looking into the later half of the day, you may want to bring out your winter comforter before heading to bed. Saturday night will reach a low of 40 degrees. Sunday night will be slightly warmer, reaching a low of 46 degrees.
With zero chance of rain, enjoying the outdoors before it gets too cold may be the right way to go. Georgia already has many great places to check out some holiday lights, including the Garden Lights, Holiday Nights at the Atlanta Botanical Garden and Illuminights at Zoo Atlanta.

Moving into early next week, expect temperatures to head toward the mid-60s as we slightly warm up again. No rain is expected until the end of the week.
With Georgia visitors heading back home over the weekend, expect some delays as the roadways fill up once again. Because it’s a holiday weekend, the delays won’t be due to road closure from maintenance, though.
Getting ready for the upcoming holiday season, Brookhaven will start hanging up Christmas-themed banners on utility poles on Buford Highway and North Druid Hills, Lavista and Peachtree roads.
