A fire on the roof of what authorities said is a vacant commercial building temporarily closed a southwest Atlanta road Wednesday morning as firefighters battled the flames.

When Atlanta fire crews responded to the 800 block of Conley Road around 8 a.m., they found two fires on the roof that were quickly put out, Battalion Chief Arzell Bostick said. No fire was found inside the structure, he added.

Authorities are unsure how the fire was only confined to the roof.

Authorities are unsure how the fire was confined only to the roof and will be investigating its cause. From the scene Wednesday, Bostick told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution there have been unconfirmed reports of other fires at the same building. While he said the fire department would look into those reports, he did not provide any other details.

No one was injured as the building is vacant and under construction, spokeswoman Alyssa Richardson said.

The building previously housed several small businesses. Though authorities said it is vacant, several banners that appeared to be relatively new outside the building advertised a gentlemen’s club.

Firefighters remained on scene until around 9:30 a.m.
