Atlanta news: Fulton deputy hit by vehicle on Peachtree

A retired Fulton County sheriff’s deputy was hit by a vehicle Thursday afternoon on Peachtree Road in Buckhead, authorities said.

Atlanta police Sgt. Greg Lyon told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the incident happened around 12:45 p.m. on Peachtree at 28th Street.

The retired deputy sergeant, whose name has not been released, injured his ankle, Fulton County sheriff’s spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said.

The accident is under investigation by the Atlanta Police Department.
