U.S. Rep. Mark Meadows, R-North Carolina, is becoming the White House chief of staff, President Donald Trump announced Friday night.
“I have long known and worked with Mark, and the relationship is a very good one,” the president tweeted.

Former Acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, who reportedly served in the role for 448 days, is scheduled to become the U.S. special envoy to Northern Ireland, Trump said.
Meadows is the president’s fourth chief of staff during his administration, CNN’s Kaitlan Collins reported.
John Kelly and Reince Priebus also served as Trump’s chiefs of staff before Mulvaney.

The position does not require confirmation by the Senate.
