Two people were hit by gunfire Monday outside an Oklahoma City church where a funeral was being held, authorities say.

The shooting was reported at Greater New Zion Baptist Church shortly before 12:30 p.m. The extent of injuries to the two victims is not yet known.

Not long after the gunfire, multiple police and emergency vehicles could be seen gathered at the scene.

Early reports say an orange or red Dodge Charger pulled up to the church and someone opened fire, striking two people who were leaving the funeral.

A witness at the scene reported seeing a suspect taken into custody after a short chase.

The street where the church sits had to be closed to traffic as the investigation got underway.

According to local news reports, a woman at the scene told authorities her friend had been shot.
